Oh what a night!

The Anam Cara House Colac Annual Gala Event was once again a huge success.

Our major fundraising event, the ‘Champagne & Chandeliers’ Gala Event, was held recently at the Park Hyatt, Melbourne. And what a night it was!

Thanks to the generosity and philanthropy of those who attended, the hospice was able to raise an amazing $210,000. This amount of money allows Anam Cara House (who is totally non-government funding) to continue caring for those in need in our community.

The ballroom at the Park Hyatt was once again the most stunning of venues to welcome our guests. A special thank you to the staff who go out of their way to look after us.

Another big thank you goes out to our sponsors, auction item donors and guests who made the night a success both financially and socially. A special acknowledgement to this group of beautiful young people led by our wonderful bookkeeper Tracey Tann, who were our guest liaison volunteers on the evening. They did a superb job.

And perhaps the most moving part of the evening was when three of our beautiful Anam Cara House guests took to the stage to share their personal stories with us. You can watch their video here: https://youtu.be/QKN0GMf_MzI.

Our guests were entertained by the gorgeous Young Opera Scholars, Shakira Tsindos (Mezzo Sporano) and Elizabeth Barrow (Coloratura). They were accompanied by Konrad Olszewski on the piano.

Finally, a massive thank you goes to our marvellous MC, Mr Ian Cover (Coodabeen Champions) and our fabulous Auctioneer, Mr  Michael Stewart. We couldn’t have done it without you. The fun way you interact with the guests on the evening is really appreciated by everyone at Anam Cara House.

‘I am amazed and uplifted by the efforts that people put into all the organisations and events that I attend, but there was a special something about the spirit of Anam Cara evening that made for a truly memorable event’.
Ian Cover, MC, Coodabeen Champions.
